The Olive Group came to AssistQuik with a failing internet connection that was crippling daily operations. We delivered a full IT overhaul - connectivity, network, security, server infrastructure, AI-powered camera and access control, meeting rooms, and a new website -turning an unreliable setup into a properly engineered foundation for growth.
Introduction
The Olive Group operates across warehouse and office environments where reliable IT isn't a nice-to-have - it's the foundation everything else runs on. Stock systems, accounting, communications, customer orders, security: every part of the business depends on the network being up and the infrastructure performing.
But the day-to-day reality didn't match. The team was operating on a 60mbps copper internet line that was buckling under modern workloads, with a network and IT setup that had grown organically over years rather than being designed for the business they had become. Outages, slowdowns, and workarounds were eating into productivity - and IT had quietly shifted from background utility to constant frustration.
The Olive Group brought us in to fix it properly.

Challenge
When we audited the environment, the issues went well beyond a slow internet line. The Olive Group's IT had several layers of compounding problems:
A 60mbps copper internet connection unable to handle modern cloud workloads, video calls, and warehouse systems running concurrently
Internet uptime sitting at 68.9% — meaning roughly one working day in three was being affected by outages or severe degradation
No fibre availability at the site, with leased line quotes coming in at prohibitive cost
Patchy Wi-Fi coverage across the warehouse and office, with dead zones disrupting handheld scanners and roaming staff
Microsoft 365 running at default configuration with weak security and inconsistent licensing
No structured network monitoring, no proactive email security, and ageing on-site server infrastructure
Physical security relying on legacy door entry and basic CCTV, with no integration between systems
An outdated website that didn't represent the business or generate enquiries
The connectivity issue was the most visible symptom — but the underlying problem was an IT estate that had never been designed as a coherent system. Every fix elsewhere depended on getting the foundation right first.
Solution
Rather than patching individual problems, we delivered a coordinated overhaul of The Olive Group's entire IT environment — solving the connectivity issue with a creative engineering approach, then building the rest of the stack on top of a stable foundation.
Solving the connectivity problem. With fibre unavailable and leased lines outside budget, we explored Starlink — but the logistics of installation, line-of-sight, and ongoing reliability didn't work for the site. The solution was a dual-WAN router pairing the existing copper line for stability with a 5G connection for speed. The result: average speeds jumped from 60mbps to roughly 400mbps, with uptime climbing from 68.9% to 99.8% as failover handled any drop on either link automatically.
On the back of stable connectivity, we delivered:
Server infrastructure on Proxmox — virtualised on-site server providing efficient consolidation, snapshot-based recovery, and room to grow without re-architecting later
Warehouse-wide Wi-Fi — enterprise access points deployed across the warehouse and office, eliminating dead zones for handheld devices and roaming staff
Network monitoring — 24/7 visibility across switches, APs, firewall, and server, with alerts for outages, packet loss, and capacity issues
Network security — properly configured firewall with segmentation, geo-blocking, and intrusion prevention
Email security — advanced threat protection, anti-spoofing, and SPF/DKIM/DMARC enforcement on top of Microsoft 365
Managed Microsoft 365 — tenant configured to best practice, licences right-sized, MFA and conditional access enforced, ongoing administration handled within the day
AI-powered warehouse cameras — intelligent CCTV with object and event detection, replacing reactive monitoring with proactive alerts
AI facial recognition door entry — modern access control integrated with the camera system, removing reliance on lost fobs and shared codes
Meeting room solution — Logitech MeetUp deployed for full-room coverage, integrated with calendar booking so meetings start cleanly every time
Website rebuild and SEO — new site built to properly represent the business, with technical SEO foundations in place to drive organic visibility
The whole programme was delivered by a single team accountable for the outcome — not five vendors blaming each other.

Result
The transformation in measurable terms:
Internet uptime: 68.9% → 99.8%
Average internet speeds: 60mbps → ~400mbps
Wi-Fi dead zones: eliminated across warehouse and office
Microsoft 365 security posture: moved from default to fully hardened
Physical security: unified across cameras, access control, and AI alerting
Website: rebuilt and properly indexed, with SEO foundations driving organic visibility
But the harder-to-quantify result is the one that matters most: IT stopped being a problem. The team stopped working around outages, stopped chasing supplier escalations, and stopped losing time to issues that should never have existed. Stock systems, comms, video calls, and warehouse operations now run on a properly designed foundation — and when the business grows, the infrastructure scales with it instead of holding it back.
The Olive Group is now on AssistQuik's per-seat managed plan, with all the systems above maintained, monitored, and improved continuously as part of one engagement.
